  • Grunt party Brisbane DJ Les Smith groan after party at club 29 q news

    DJ Les Smith

After his first venture into a night club, the infamous Patches in Sydney, Les Smith was hooked on music that got you dancing. DJing was not even remotely in his thoughts until in 1982 after moving to Brisbane he was asked to fill in for one night at The Terminus in Fortitude Valley when their DJ was tragically killed in a plane crash. What started as one night turned into 13 years working at The Terminus. From the Terminus he has held residencies at all of Brisbane’s major gay and lesbian venues, like Options, The Beat, Heaven, The Alliance and The Wickham Hotel where he held a residency for 16 years. He has also held DJ residencies at The Meeting Place and Manicure as well as guest spots at Escape in Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast. There isn’t a gay club in Brisbane or the Gold Coast he hasn’t played at.

As well as club events in Brisbane and the Gold Coast Les has played throughout Australia in regional Queensland, Northern NSW, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. He played in the RHI Pavilion for the 2005 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi and has played numerous times at the infamous Toybox parties at Sydney’s Metro Theatre and Luna Park. He has been the guest DJ at Sydney’s Arq Nightclub, Scooters and The Taxi Club as well as playing the Market in Melbourne and Adelaide’s Sleaze Ball. Other major parties have included many Tropical Fruits events in Lismore, Wet Dreamin’, Brisbane Big Gay Day, Brisbane Queens Ball, Brisbane Sleaze Ball, Mass, Mancamp, Masc, White Wolf, The Not The Priscilla Tour, Aqualicious, Rigid, Brisbears, Boot Co, Camp It and Australia’s first gay cruise, Navigaytion.

After 34 years of playing at a variety of GLBTQ events he has now starting producing his own events by running the Mu Mu Land parties and has also joined forces with DJs mikeyb and neddEbear to form KLM Productions where they run male only events that include Menergy and Cowboyz.

Grunt party Brisbane DJ Fradge Tiffany I think were alone now

    DJ FRADGE

DJ Fradge takes DJ’ing to a new level. Mixing live and producing some of the finest dance music around, he continually packs dance floors and has conquered the local scene in Brisbane. His infectious beats, musical knowledge and ability to mix to any crowd have made him ‘The Name Around Town’.

DJ Fradge started out at Melbourne's 3CR where he discovered his love of radio. This allowed him to mix his passion for music with his tenacious personality. He was then handpicked to work at Sydney's Free FM and Rhythm FM as well as guest gigs on 2Day FM and 101.7 WS FM. In 2010 a chance meeting with Brisbane's Master Sergeant, began his journey as a DJ.

DJ Fradge has been filling dance floors for years now and has producing his own sold out events (Babylon @ Wet and The Rabbit Hole) which were both nominated for the '2012 Event of the year' by Brisbane Pride, and is one of the owners of the highly successful 'Grunt' parties, what is in it's second year.

He has worked at some of the country's biggest venues including Arq Sydney, Stonewall Hotel and The Wickham Hotel, plus top notch events such as Brisbane's ‘Big Gay Day 2014’ where he had the honer of closing the Old Wickham Hotel, to a packed dance floor from whoa to go. He was one of the headliners for the 2016 / 17 Tropical Fruits New Years event.

Currently DJ Fradge plays all over Brisbane with residency at Escape Night Club, and Club29. alongside guest club nights for Brisbane Bears and Boot Co.

DJ Fradge plays a vibrant mix of commercial to progressive house with a strong influence of the past that is yet also fiercely on trend. He has also been nominated for DJ of the year 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 by Brisbane Pride and the public.

You Can hear DJ Fradges mixes and download them from iTunes under DJ Fradge.

He has played mostly in Brisbane clubs , pubs and bars and is known best for his warm up sets . All genres of dance music are part of his collection but smooth , funky house tracks with lots of vocals are what he loves playing the most .

Grunt Party Brisbane DJ Rob Davis

    DJ ROB DAVIS

Rob Davis began his DJ career in a time when your biggest social platform was your record collection and boots, and the only voice you had to the masses as a DJ was the music. It's an approach to the job that has stuck with Rob from the moment he started his career and has lead him to where he is today - an icon of Sydney's dance music scene.

With more years under his belt than any DJ on our party line up, there is nothing Rob can't do, or even - nothing he hasn't done as a DJ. He has released 7 commercial CD's including Sydney Mardi Gras' 20th Anniversary compilation, Pride and Global Grooves, and has DJ'd all the parties you've heard of in gay Sydney, plus all the ones you haven't. We're not going to say anymore, because his music will do enough of the talking for GRUNT and GROAN.
